What you will do as a Lead Bus Detailer:

  • Clean/wash the exterior and interior of our deluxe model motorcoaches using hand and power equipment.
  • Check exterior and interior of the coach for evidence of damage, reporting any damage to your supervisor.
  • Act as a shift lead, providing training and guidance for Bus Detailers. 
In the absence of the Bus Detailer - Supervisor:
  • Establishes cleaning “flow” for each shift based on vehicle return time.
  • Monitors/manages the cleaning and fueling processes of Company Vehicles, working
    alongside Bus Detailers to ensure timely and complete “service” of each vehicle.
  • Facilitates deep cleaning of Company vehicles as time allows (while waiting on vehicles
    to return to the yard, when wash list is completed).
  • Verifies shift coverage and collaborates with the Bus Detailer – Supervisor and/or the
    Director of Maintenance to request temporary workers as needed from the staffing
    agency.
  • Coaches, trains, and develops Bus Detailers.
  • Ensures all Team Members (including temporary workers) have received proper training
    before they are allowed to work, to include: washing interior and exterior of vehicle,
    operating the Robo Wash, HAZCOM training, and fueling procedures.
  • Controls/monitors the use of cleaning materials to avoid waste, misuse, or damage.
  • Communicates any timecard issues and performance issues to the Bus Detailer –
    Supervisor.
  • Ensures only qualified Bus Detailers drive Company vehicles to/from the wash bay.
  • Collects all items left on Company vehicles and turns them into the Maintenance
    Administrator to be placed in the lost and found.
  • Creates/maintains a safe working environment for all Team Members.
  • Corrects any unsafe working condition immediately, reporting all issues and resolutions to
    the Bus Detailer - Supervisor.

What does it take to be a Lead Bus Detailer?

  • Min. 1 year of vehicle detail/wash experience or training, preferably Motor Coaches
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Must have valid state driver license.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, such as GED, preferred.
  • Satisfactory pre-employment and ongoing random drug tests results
  • Documentation of a clear criminal record
  • Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and co-workers;
  • Must be able to work late evenings and weekends
  • Must be available for on call assignments

What are the physical demands of Lead Bus Detailer?

  • Have a “glass is half full” mentality, with a passion for serving others.
  • Be able to stand or walk long period of times, and lift, push, pull and carry tools, objects or equipment.
  • You must be able to move up and down stairs easily.
