Job Description

The Accountant is responsible for G/L accounting and period-end close processes. Primary responsibilities include preparing journal entries, completing balance sheet reconciliations, providing guidance to Accountants Payable Administrator, and revenue recognition. This position reports to the Regional Controller.

This position is based in Mesa, AZ.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Responsible for recording all transactions in accordance with IFRS.

Responsible for maintaining and ensuring operation of an effective internal control environment and up to date documentation of internal controls.

Coordinate general ledger activities, including preparing and posting journal entries while maintaining supporting schedules, documentation and appropriate levels of approval.

Prepare monthly reconciliations for all assigned balance sheet accounts, research outstanding balances and recommend corrective action to ensure timely and accurate completion.

Assist Regional Controller in preparing meaningful monthly variance analyses for management, explaining unusual trends and differences to expectation.

Assist with internal & external audit requests, work with auditors to provide support and resolve issues timely.

Support, cross train and back up all peers and senior accountants for all responsibilities assigned.

Prioritize and complete other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

Proficient in Great Plains

3 or more years general accounting and/or audit experience is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

Strong communication skills are required.

Strong computer skills needed particularly Excel and proficient in general office computer applications.

Good problem solving skills.

Attention to detail is a must.

Ability to work well under time tight time constraints and meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy.

Adherence to policies, procedures and instructions leadership.

Ability to maintain good working relationships with vendors and other employees.

Ability to function as a team player.

Must be able to adapt to a changing environment, and reprioritize as needed.
